We’re now looking for a part-time DevOps Engineer (Independent Contractor) to design and maintain the scalable infrastructure that brings our bio-computational pipelines to life.

Key duties and responsibilities
  • Containerization of applications and services;

  • Working in Agile team supporting software engineers, data scientists and bioinformaticians in building and deployment of web applications and computational pipelines;

  • Designing, configuring, and maintaining infrastructure for running CI tests, data processing on Kubernetes and AWS ecosystem;

  • Contributing to architecture design and technology selection for new modules and products;

  • Responsibility for documenting the configuration of the systems;

  • Design of procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance;

  • Working with DevOps tools and stack, eg.: Bash, Python, AWS, Docker, Terraform, Jenkins, Git;

  • Taking the initiative to address and find solutions to technical challenges faced by the team.

Requirements
  • Working experience in a similar role for at least 2 years;

  • Experience in using a Cloud ecosystem, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS);

  • A degree in Computer Science or knowledge of DevOps involvement in developing, testing, and deploying software;

  • Proficiency in English with very good written and verbal communication skills;

  • Good knowledge of Python and Bash scripting;

  • Familiarity with Linux or any UNIX operating system;

  • Familiarity with distributed version control systems (Git or Mercurial).

 

You get bonus points for:

  • Familiarity with other DevOps tools for Continuous Integration, cloud configuration and machine provisioning;

  • Experience working with Jenkins and Openshift;

  • Familiarity with Atlassian software: Jira and Confluence.
