We are seeking a skilled Bioinformatician with Nextflow to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong bioinformatics, software development, and workflow management background. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust, scalable, and reproducible data analysis pipelines using Nextflow, enabling efficient processing of genomic data. This role requires collaboration with scientists and engineers to implement solutions that drive our research initiatives.

 
Key responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and optimize bioinformatics pipelines using Nextflow for high-throughput data analysis.

  • Collaborate with research scientists to understand and translate their data analysis needs into efficient workflows.

  • Ensure data quality and reproducibility by implementing best practices in version control, testing, and documentation.

  • Integrate various bioinformatics tools and databases into the Nextflow workflows to streamline data processing.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline performance and issues, providing solutions to enhance efficiency.

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing by documenting processes and results.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in bioinformatics and Nextflow technologies, applying new knowledge to improve workflows.

 

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biology, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining workflows using Nextflow.

  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python and R.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.) and containerization technologies (Docker, Singularity).

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD practices.

  • Solid understanding of molecular biology, genomics, and relevant bioinformatics tools and databases.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
